Data – The data set is so big that my computer crashed. That’s only because bloody Microsoft Windows decided it had to update while my analysis was running. But I set it to run again overnight and had something by morning.
Presentation – There was enough data analysed, and I could actually present it, [...]

Today was a big day!
I got word that the NIH gave a large chunk of money on my behalf to the folks who own my student loans. I got on the web site and confirmed it. I am now several thousand dollars less in debt! What a happy day!

My Political Compass

Link here.
Economic Left/Right: -2.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.00
I’m not sure I buy it. I think I’m further to the economic right than this though the libertarian/authoritarian axis is probably about right. Of course, trying to express complex political viewpoints on even two axes is vastly undersimplifying …

Interesting ICD-9 codes

I’m working in the ER right now, and while I was trying to find an ICD-9 diagnostic code for a patient, I came across the following code that I’d never seen before:
E845.8: Accident Involving Spacecraft Injuring Groundcrew, Employee
I wonder how often that one’s been used?
